Description
Adapters for simracing seat mounting. Comes in a set of 4 pieces, plus 4 M6 and M8 screws – everything you need to mount your seat. Designed and made in Germany.
The adapters are made from laser-cut 4mm steel, finished with a wear resistant, smooth RAL 9005 powder coat. They allow for up to 85mm offset between the slottings of your rig, and the bottom mounting holes of your seat. A rig built according to our ‘Build Your Perfect Simracing Rig for under 300€’ tutorial would be compatible with seats with bottom mounting holes that are between 239mm and 409mm apart in width, which covers almost every single bottom mounted seat on the market, including seats from most real cars. Mounted to aluminium profiles through its M6 hole into an M6 threaded T-nut, the adapters will lift up your seat by 8cm for easier ingress and egress. Using this adapter will usually save 8 angles and an additional extrusion cross member in a 40×40 / 80×40 aluminium profile based rig design.
You can also use these to side-mount seats as shown in the second picture below, replacing L adapters that are usually much more expensive. The distance between the slotting of your rig’s longitudinal main extrusions has to be between 48mm and 100mm wider than the distance between your seat’s mounting holes. If you build your rig according to our tutorial, this will cover most side mounted seats as well. Note that this will result in a low mounting position. In this case, we recommend either lifting up the main longitudinal extrusions with feet, or measuring in advance that your seat will clear the ground.
Sheet metal parts can show tooling marks in, or around, holes and bends, as well as other manufacturing-related surface imperfections.
FAQ
How does simracing seat mounting work with the adapters and aluminium profiles, on my DIY rig?
- Connect the M8 holes of all four adapters to the mounting holes of your seat, using the included M8 screws and a size 5 hex (“allen”) key. Don’t tighten them fully yet, so they can still rotate freely.
- Slide 4 M6 T-nuts into the profiles you want to connect the seat to. Put the seat, with the connected adapters, onto the profiles and align the M6 holes of the adapters with the T-nuts. Screw them together tight using the included M6 screws.
- Tighten the M8 screws in the seats.
