Description
Rigid base plate, designed for mounting simracing pedals to aluminium profile rigs. Fits a wide variety of 2- and 3-pedal-sets. Includes 6 black M6 screws for connection to your rig into T-nuts (which are not included). Designed and made in Germany.
The plate is made from laser-cut aluminium, finished with a wear resistant, smooth RAL 9005 powder coat. It’s bent to withstand high braking forces through 3-dimensional geometry instead of deflecting like a completely flat plate of this (or higher) thickness would. At the same time, it’s engineered to spread loads evenly without deforming plastically and is safe to use even for very high pedal actuation forces.
As a result of the geometry designed to withstand deflection, part of the heel rest area is elevated by around 12mm, which is a good compromise if you’ve been unsure if you should buy a separate, lifted heel rest to use with conventional, flat pedal mounting plates.
Compatible with most 2- and 3-pedal sets that allow bottom-mounting with M6 or M5 screws, for example:
- Heusinkveld Sprint, VRS DirectForce, Simgrade VX-Pro / Thera, Najam Simtec S120, Cube Controls SP01, and many more!
Some pedals’ mounting holes are too far apart for the slotted holes of our plate, and will not fit. This includes:
- Heusinkveld Ultimate, VNM Lite, Moza mBooster, Simucube Active Pedal
If you’re unsure whether your pedals will fit, take a look at the drawing measurements below, or contact us anytime.
Here’s a worst-case displacement simulation of the plate. A total of 800N (~80kg) of force is exerted on a simulated brake pedal, fastened to the center of the plate in a narrow pattern, furthest away from the longitudinally mounted supporting aluminium profiles. The maximum deflection at the feet is around 0.5mm. We were able to validate during testing that the deflection is too small to be noticeable.
Sheet metal parts can show tooling marks in, or around, holes and bends, as well as other manufacturing-related surface imperfections.
FAQ
Why is it bent like this? Wouldn’t a flat plate be cheaper?
Pedal plates are relatively simple, but heavy products. Costs of logistics and materials are usually higher than the manufacturing cost of the plates. The goal of this development was to cost-optimise international delivery by using bends to produce stiffness, instead of just adding more material. The complete product, as packaged, weighs less than 900 grams and is sized to just about qualify as DHL ‘Warenpost International’, which is much cheaper to ship than a normal package. This, together with material savings due to the low sheet thickness, more than outweighs the increased manufacturing cost of the bending and the aluminium alloy used. The plate qualifies for free EU shipping, even if you don’t order anything else from our store.
How do I mount the pedals to the plate, and the plate to aluminium profiles, on my DIY rig?
We recommend connecting our Pedal Base Plate to two 40×40 aluminium extrusions. Position the extrusions longitudinally (as shown in the displacement simulation above) for easy length adjustment. Slide 6 M6 T-nuts (that fit your size of aluminium profile) into them, 3 on each side. Connect the two extrusions to the rest of your rig, but don’t fully tighten them yet. Put the Anderlink Pedal Base Plate on top of them, position the extrusions and T-nuts to align with its side slottings and front holes, and tighten the extrusions against the rest of the rig. Then, use all 6 screws that come with the base plate and screw them through the plate into the T-nuts. Use the mounting hardware that came with your pedals and mount them at whichever spacing feels right, using the long slottings.
My rig isn’t based on 40×40 or 40×80 extrusions. Can I mount the plate anyway?
Sure, as long as your rig provides a mounting pattern that aligns with the pattern of the plate, and allows you to screw in all 6 connections. Some mechanical support beyond the screw connections would be ideal, similarly to how the plate is laying directly on the flat sides of the extrusions in the displacement simulation above.
Is there a warranty?
